I used a collection of videos on my phone to create this diptych. I used videos of me driving, riding the bus, watching a crowd, and going to shows over this last summer. The piece is in three segments, alternating the colors between warm and cool. For the first segment, I combined the video of me driving through the neighborhood and changed the tone of it to a blue/green color. Then I overlayed it with the video of me riding the bus through campus to get the dots. For the next segment I used a video of a crowd I recorded at school and made the colors more red/yellow. I also put a video of a person I recorded at a DJ set I went to, using the two different outfits he wore on either panel. For the final segment, I took a video of the opening of a concert I attended. I didn't change the coloring, I only enhanced it because the lighting was already a dark blue. For the video overlaying it, I had a video of a slideshow displaying past events held at a venue. And finally for the audio, I used my mixed sound piece.
